Our Story
As higher education professionals and parents, we found ourselves struggling with how to best prepare our kids for the fast-changing digital and tech world of tomorrow. We didn’t want our kids to be unprepared due to the fact that teaching these skills and concepts is not necessarily a part of the normal education curriculum at schools today.
We originally started Kidzcourse as a resource for ourselves, an online toolkit to help our kids (and us) learn important real-world skills for the world of tomorrow. They loved building apps, learning the language of coding, and making short animated movies.
It was a lot of work to put it all together, and we quickly realized that most teachers and parents wouldn’t be able to invest the time that we had to creating a resource this extensive.
Give every child the opportunity to learn the skills of tomorrow…
But then, a lightbulb went off. We decided we should open up Kidzcourse to the world so that all classroom teachers, homeschool teachers and parents alike could pull from our resources to help kids and students everywhere. Our mission with the SkillsDojo Foundation is to better the world as a whole and give every kid the opportunity to learn the skills of tomorrow in a fun and educational way.
Kidzcourse is a way for classroom and homeschool teachers to get help with the heavy lifting of lesson plans so they can focus on the coaching and support of their students. And a great way for parents to feel good about their kids’ screen time with the ability to work on their own or together.
